It is a 2024 2.5D side-scrolling platform video game that Nintendo will release as the console’s debut title. The sixth instalment is in the New Super Mario Bros. franchise. The game is a follow-up to New Super Mario 2. (2012).
On May 25, 2024, the New Super Mario Bros. 3—a side-scrolling, 2.5D platform game—will be available worldwide on the Nintendo Switch. It is the most recent game in the venerable New Super Mario Bros. series, and it was launched to mark the 15th anniversary of the Nintendo DS original’s debut in Japan.
From earlier games, Blue Toad, Yellow Toad, &Toadette all make a comeback as playable characters. Additionally, as the first in the series, many unlockable characters are introduced in this game. Like Super Mario Bros. 2 USA and Super Mario 3D World, every character (apart from Mario) has a trait that helps them control differently. The user can turn off these characteristics and restore Mario’s natural physics for each character.
Apart from the characters, this game sets itself apart from previous New Super Mario Bros. games with a wide array of power-ups, monsters, environments, and other fresh material. This game includes online minigame and fight modes and an online multiplayer element similar to the one first provided by Super Mario Maker 2 a few years earlier.

Players may use a wide range of new power-ups throughout the game on their mission to save the princess from Bowser’s grasp. These include previously seen skills like the Frog or Penguin Suits and brand-new skills like the Boomerang & Cloud Flowers that have never been seen inside a side-scrolling context. The Bomb Flower &Goomba Suit, two brand-new power-ups that introduce fresh mechanics for players to employ, finally debut.
The series’ customary eight-world format is one of the most significant modifications introduced by this game, along with other alterations. The Koopalings are not only relegated to Airships as well as other locations rather than the final castles of each world, but new environments such as autumnal woods, towns, and pipe mazes also play a significant role in the experience.
Plot
Princess Peach turns one today in the Mushroom Kingdom! Mario and Luigi are having fun dressing up as cats to play with. They then heard Peach’s call announcing the arrival of Prince Blueberry, Peach’s twin brother, in the Mushroom Kingdom.
He kidnaps all of Bowser’s henchmen because of fear that he is assaulting the Berry Kingdom. Blueberry is taken to Bowser’s Castle after being captured by Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings. They immediately leave when Peach asks Mario and Luigi to save her twin brother.
Main Character Mario
Mario is portrayed as a chubby plumber who resides in the made-up Mushroom Kingdom with his younger, tall brother, Luigi. The TV show and the movie portray Mario & Luigi as Brooklyn, New York residents. Super Mario World 2.
Yoshi’s Island was the first game to feature a scene from Mario’s early life when a stork carried him to the Mushroom Kingdom. Miyamoto estimated Mario’s actual age to be between 24 and 25 years old in a 2005 conversation, and according to Nintendo Power, his birthdate is October 11.
Like Luigi, he has brown hair, blue eyes, and a dark brown or black moustache. This recurring colour discrepancy is a holdover from when the characters were created on their original platforms, when some traits were purposefully differentiated. At the same time, others had to be minimized because of technological constraints.
