The GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini is a Best Action small Camera that is mounted and is best used on bicycle and motorcycle helmets. The action cameras from GoPro are frequently used for situations like these, but some may say that in recent generations, they’ve lost some of their potency.
The GoPro Hero 9 Black made these cameras substantially bigger, but they also had better image quality, stability, and performance. New GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini and the Hero 11 Black were both unveiled in September 2022. There is no immediate prelude.
When the Hero 10 Black first launched in 2021, there was no Mini version. GoPro has now moved forward the anticipated release date of the Hero 11 Black Mini from October 25 to November 18. GoPro’s CEO Nicholas Woodman explains that this is happening because the business is “allowing ourselves a little more time to develop the product for our excited customers.”

In addition to being more compact, this less expensive model is slightly less expensive than the Hero 11 Black. It costs $299, £299, or AU$ 499 when purchased with a GoPro membership, or $399, £399, or AU$ 639 when purchased individually. Unlimited cloud storage, a camera replacement, and discounts on accessories bought directly from GoPro are all included with this subscription. The Ordinary Hero 11 Black, on the other hand, is $399.98/£399/AU$649.95 with a GoPro membership versus $499.99/£499.99/AU$799.95 without one.
Design of the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini 2024
With the exception of the two screens, the GoPro Hero 11 Black small action camera can be comparable to the GoPro Hero 11 Black. You can view a picture preview without using the Quik app on your phone by using the small display at the top. Other action cameras without displays, like the first Insta360 Go, have been released. However, this one costs more because it uses the same fundamental hardware as the Hero 11 Black 2024.
The Action Camera GP2 CPU and the substantial 1/1.9-inch sensor are also included. GoPro’s standard Hero 11 Black weighs 133g, which is 15% more than the Hero 11 Black Mini. And at 52.4mm, it’s particularly slim. If you plan to use your GoPro almost entirely mounted to something like bike handlebars or a helmet, the sacrifices made will definitely be worthwhile. In these situations, a preview image of your footage won’t be of use.
Further sacrifices have been made. If you typically carry two or three extra batteries around to extend your shooting time, the non-removable battery in the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini is a major turn-off. On a little LCD that is located on top of the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini, basic parameters are shown. You may check the battery life, the remaining memory card space, and the currently selected mode.
Features of the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini 2024
In most other ways, the GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini and regular Hero 11 Black are interchangeable. It can capture 4K video at a maximum frame rate of 120, 2.7K video at a maximum frame rate of 240, and 5.3K video at a maximum frame rate of 60. There are also sophisticated low-light video settings that use extended exposure durations to capture time lapses with excellent clarity.
You may shoot at night to see the path of the stars as they move across the sky, paint in the air using a light source like a torch, and create light streaks out of car headlights. There isn’t a separate stills mode, though.
Instead, Action Camer gives you the option to extract crisp photos from 5.3K footage. There is technically no reason why GoPro couldn’t support still capturing. The Mini’s focus was probably thought to be weakened by the addition of such settings, and it was also thought that the camera wouldn’t produce high-quality stills.
It’s plausible to argue that skipping the Hero 11 Black’s HDR photo mode doesn’t cost you anything because 24.7MP still images are captured from the high-resolution video recording. Using GoPro’s most recent Hypersmooth 5.0 stabilization technology, the Hero 11 Black Mini can lock the horizon at up to 27 degrees of camera rotation in top modes.
How Long Lasting Does GoPro 11 Mini?
The Mini 11 Action Camera is no different. Its built-in battery makes it particularly difficult to work with, as there’s no need to swap it out when it runs out of power mid-adventure. In a test, it got about 45 minutes of runtime at 5.3K60 and about an hour at 4K60.
