It comes with a 6-foot USB-A-to-Micro-USB cable, an indoor power adapter, wall anchors and plates, mounting screws, and a free user guide. The camera is in a $59.99 bundle with the Wyze Cam OG and a stacking kit ($9.99 itself) for a dual-camera setup.

The cube-like Wyze Cam OG Telephoto measures 1.8 1.8 by 1.8 inches (HWD) and can be closely compared to the Wyze Cam v3. The camera weighs just 4.1 ounces and is mounted on a 2.5-inch-high threaded mounting arm. It also uses a base that can serve as a desktop stand for indoor surfaces or as an attachment point for walls or ceilings. Given an IP65 weatherproof rating, it can withstand the elements outside.
Wyze Cam OG 2024: Installation & Performance
Installing the Wyze OG Telephoto is a straightforward process. Download the app from the Play Store, create an account, and go to the plus icon on the top left corner of the main screen. Next, tap on Add Device and select Wyze Cam OG from the list. This way, the LED will start flashing red after tapping on your camera after plugging it in. Then you will get a voice prompt saying “Ready to connect”.
Now, the app should find the camera. You have to enter your network information and, in this case, go to Connect. Then, a specific network and your Alexa device should appear in the list. In this place, the name of the camera. It must be provided, and the firmware must be updated after installation.
Wyze Cam OG Telephoto 2024 Performance
The telephoto lens successfully provided a close-up view with good colour quality in daylight. Able to provide detail for sharp photos. The night video appeared quicker in black and white than in colour. The PiP feature worked perfectly, with the Cam OG providing a complementary wide-angle view.
Motion and sound alerts can arrive instantly, and the app can accurately identify both types. Alexa voice commands to stream video to the Amazon Echo Show display can work like a charm. We created a Wise Plug outdoor trigger for the camera. Wyze notes that this camera can get faster reading speeds than previous models. To offer superior audio in the race, but, as in our Cam OG test, we didn’t notice much of a difference.
