Apple iPhone 16 to finally get a big Upgrade in charging

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 lineup will have larger battery capacities than previous-generation models, barring the iPhone 16 Plus. The iPhone 16 is likely to come with a 3,561 mAh battery pack compared to the 3,349 mAh battery seen in the previous model iPhone 15.

Moreover, Apple came up with foil casing for last year’s iPhone. This year’s iPhone 16 is said to use a metal casing for its battery.

The figures show that the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger batteries than their predecessors. But, the iPhone 16 Plus is said to have a lower battery capacity than the iPhone 15 Plus.

iPhone 16 Battery Outlook:

As with all smartphone manufacturers, iPhone battery life has been a trade-off between thin and light aesthetics versus a reasonable running time. With the iPhone 16 family, it looks like the handset’s battery life is going up a bit, but it’s unlikely to be a huge difference, except perhaps in the case of the Pro Max model.

Fast Charging Speed:

We’ve seen some Android phones go from zero to 100% full in 15 minutes with triple-figure watt chargers. Apple doesn’t seem to be moving at that pace, however, it’s certain that the company will make some progress with the iPhone 16.

At X, Pers Gouglani wrote that he believes the iPhone 16 series will offer 40W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. That might be a big step up from the current 25W limit, but even if he’s right, it’s highly unlikely that Apple will go back to bundling chargers with its handsets.

However, with the advent of the iPhone 15 series, Apple has increased the battery capacity of the iPhone 15 Pro Max to make it the largest battery used in an iPhone.

Conclusion:

According to another rumor, this year’s iPhone 16 Pro Max will boast a 30-hour plus battery life (compared to 29 hours for the iPhone 15 Pro Max). Not only that, both iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to have slightly larger displays.

If Apple wants to reduce the battery in the iPhone 16 Plus, it will widen the gap between the two tiers. Although, The iPhone 16 lineup is expected and unannounced. We’ll see where Apple ends up when four new iPhone models are unveiled this September.
