Apple has decided to release 11-inch and 13-inch iPod Pro models with OLED displays in the middle of 2024. A report says so. The already existing touchscreen panel capacity is ready for launch. The report suggested that the new iPad Pro models will feature OLED displays made with a hybrid of flexible materials. Apple’s new iPad Pro will have a bigger OLED display. And potentially lead to a thinner and lighter design compared to previous models.
OLED display could enable future iPad Pro displays to have brighter, higher contrast, more accurate colours, and lower power consumption than current models with LCD panels. Apple now uses OLED displays for all iPhone and Apple Watch models, except for the budget iPhone SE.
Will the OLED iPad Pro Chip M3 be used in 2024?
Like recent iPad Pro models, the 2024 refresh is expected to come in two sizes with several configuration options available. According to recent reports, the upcoming iPad Pro in 2024 will be available in two sizes: 11-inch and 13-inch.
Compared to the mini-LED technology that Apple uses for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro , OLED will come with deeper blacks, faster refresh rates, and improved contrast.
Maybe that will change soon. Apple will release a slightly bigger 13-inch iPad Pro with OLED screens and M3 chips, along with a revised Magic Keyboard with a bigger trackpad, writes Gurman in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg today.
Apple has not yet confirmed anything about the new M3 chips, but it’s possible that they can feature eight CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, just like the M2. However, it will use a new 3nm manufacturing process from TSMC. That’s hoped to allow for improved performance, better thermals, and lower power usage. With extra connectivity options and more storage, the new iPad Pros can likely use the same M3 chip.
